Room to Sublet – Spacious room in 3BR/1BA in Sugar Hill, Manhattan – $1000/mo (excludes utilities)

Available for long-term sublet in a large, light-filled apartment on the first floor of a building in the heart of Sugar Hill. Currently living here are two men (ages 38 and 27) looking for a like-minded, employed individual to join our home. We’re also creatives (photography, music, film). We’re ideally looking for an April 1st move in, but can arrange something if you need to move in a bit after the first of the month.

About the Space:

- Room: Unfurnished room in a three-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment. There is furniture in the photo, but the current tenant is moving out after 5 years in order to live with his s/o, and the room will be emptied and has since been repainted. The room is about 11’x14.5’ - all of the rooms in this apartment are large!

- Location: Situated in the neighborhood of Sugar Hill, in Manhattan, about a block away from the C train on 155th street, a short walk to the A, B, C, D on 145th, and about a 10m walk from the 1 train on 157st. We are about 1.5 blocks from laundromats, and a short walk to Broadway which has plenty of bars, restaurants, etc.

- Rent: $1000/month before utilities. Utilities are typically ~$75/month (internet, electric/gas, etc), but electric can go up in the summer month when A/Cs are in the picture. We also typically hire a cleaning service for the commons spaces once per month, at $50 each, so you could expect the total cost to be ~$1125/month for most of the year.

- Lease: Long-term sublet preferred. First month’s rent plus security deposit required.

About Us:

- We value a clean, respectful living environment and appreciate someone who maintains common spaces and gets along well with roommates and neighbors. We will be conducting short interviews with interested parties. We have lived with both men and women here, and do not care with which you identify, but more so that the vibe is right and we know you're dependable. We also do not frequently have overnight guests, and typically check with each other when we might, primarily because there is one shared bathroom here.
